about

====================================================

I hope this song is the soundtrack
to the closing credits of your troubles ✨

====================================================

This track signifies the beginning of a new experiment for me.

Over the next few years I plan on releasing singles as I create them, rather then squirrelling them away for very long periods of time, waiting until a home is built for them inside a full-length album.

These sort of releases are still my personally prefered way of listening to music though, so eventually when enough tracks are made for an decent release, I'll collate them into an album and release them in a neat package. At this point, I'll also "hide" the singles or merge them into the album to declutter my discography page (they'll still be available in your collection if you purchased any though).

If there isn't an easy way to automatically apply discounts through bandcamp, I also plan on offering discount codes for this eventual album if you've already purchased the various singles leading up to it. The discount would be equal to the amount of singles in your collection. This might change, and will require a lot of micromanagement, but I think it could be worth it.

I'm trying this experiment out for a few reasons, the main being to relieve the colossal amounts of stress I put myself under leading up to an album release. As it's the cumulation of years of my life, I tend to put so much weight on it going well that my body and mind become very unhappy with me. So this way, each release should take a *much* lighter emotional and biological toll (and also won't give me writer's block for 1-2 years post album release each time).

There are some secondary reasons too, like getting the audience music a lot more regularly than every 3-4 years, and also some algorithmic reasons too, which might help the systems that govern our discoverability connect me with more people that might be interested in the music!

Either way, we'll see how we go. I'm curious and excited about the future and I can't wait to share it with you <3
